Public Involvement
and Comments
Learn more about how the KY 8 Licking River Bridge Project team is working with local officials and community leaders to ensure that the needs of all users are considered in the project plans.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is fully committed to public involvement to better understand the needs of all users as plans are being developed. KYTC sought public input during the preliminary engineering phase by hosting two public meetings and distributing an online survey. Following this outreach, KYTC received hundreds of comments from local officials, residents, and other stakeholders. Each comment was documented and considered as part the project development process. The project team continues to work closely with local partners to ensure that anyone interested in the project has the opportunity to provide feedback.
KYTC recognizes the historic nature of the area surrounding the KY 8 Licking River Bridge and the robust public involvement process followed Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). Consulting parties, including individuals and organizations with a historic preservation interest in the project area, were invited to provide input to KYTC as part of the Section 106 process. KYTC hosted two virtual meetings where consulting party participants were provided the opportunity to be involved in the Section 106 process for the project.
